Walter's Perspective

The Newport subdivision of Jersey City consists of about 12 high-rise residential buildings that were developed by the LeFrak Organization in the mid to late 1980s. Inside Newport, there are only three condo buildings, The Shore Club North, South Tower and the James Monroe. The others are exclusive rental buildings. People who rent in Newport love it so much that they do not want to leave. This only leaves a handful of condo options. Buyers can buy in the Shore Club, which was built between 2005 and 2007, or the James Monroe, which was built around 1987.

The Shore Club is extremely convenient for commuting to New York City. You can easily get to the Newport PATH Station in under five minutes. You can also go to the Hoboken PATH station along the waterfront promenade. There's also access to New York via the ferry across the Hudson.

The Newport subdivision is only about 50% complete. The master plan calls for more residential towers to be constructed. In recent years, a new park was built, called Newport Green, which overlooks New York City. It's an extremely popular park in the area.

The Shore Club condos consists of one bedroom, two bedroom, and three-bedroom layouts. Like most buildings in the area, the three bedroom layout is a limited item. The nice thing about the Shore Club is that the building offers floor-to-ceiling windows. Many buyers tend to like this because it allows lots of natural sunlight in, as well is it offers maximum view of New York City.

The Comfort of Convenience

Convenience is one word that comes to mind when thinking of the Shore Club. It is extremely convenient to New York City and shopping. It is right across the street from Target, very close to ShopRite, and within a short distance to many of the shops that are located directly in the Newport subdivision. This includes Morton Williams supermarket and a Starbucks. Buyers who tend to live in Newport have everything at their immediate disposal.

Shore Club's amenities are located on the top floor of the building. They feature a large residence lounge that one can reserve for private events, a beautiful sun deck that overlooks New York City, a large fitness center, and a children's playroom. The building also has a 24-hour concierge who announces guests and hold packages.

If you have a car, parking in Newport is rented on a monthly basis. It's fairly easy to get a spot in the complex. No one owns parking in the Shore Club. There is only a rental option.

If you like shopping, the Shore Club is very close to the Newport Center Mall. There you can find a Macy's department store, JC Penny as well as many other national name-brand stores.

The Shore Club is very close to the Batello Restaurant, a great Italian restaurant by the Newport Marina. It's also very close to Hoboken, where are you can hit one of the many restaurants.
